Jack and Jill of America member and her daughter Recently, I have become keenly aware that good kids are created by accident. They become good because someone made a concerted effort to pour positive things into them--things like, honor, discipline and respect for others. These qualities are taught through lessons and by observation. For that reason, I have been actively considering how to give my children more examples of people who embody those qualities. "We can make a commitment to promote vegetables and fruits and whole grains on every part of every menu. We can make portion sizes smaller and emphasize quality over quantity. And we can help create a culture - imagine this - where our kids ask for healthy options instead of resisting them." -Michelle Obama
I've been a little obsessed with politics and Michelle Obama lately. Probably it's because we're in the midst of a very competitive presidential campaign and both the Republicans and the Democrats recently concluded their conventions.
Seriously, though, she planted a vegetable garden at the White House proving how committed she is to providing her family with healthy meals. Mrs. Obama has the luxury of having older children who probably appreciate the benefit of eating their vegetable. My toddler only understands what she is inclined to do at that moment. And sometimes, she is not inclined to eat her vegetables. Because of that I have come up with a plan. I think that it's genius is in its simplicity and sneakiness.

(I am wearing the hair rollers because I needed to set my hair before a big presentation today and taped this before showering. Don't judge me! I got up early to find my spark and hustle like Tory Johnson taught me. Perhaps she also meant take a shower and look presentable before taping and/or leaving the house???)
