Easter Reminded Me of the Miracles That Are My Children

Greetings from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! Things have been busy. I am still a working mom of three, working full time who is trying to make a difference. I do a lot of things and try to be present so that I can learn from them. I share them on this blog so that we can learn together. Below are some thoughts, hacks, and/or lessons that I have learned from navigating my world. Below is a tale of my road to becoming the mother of three. It was a road filled with joys and disappointments. However, I wouldn't giving nothing for my journey now. Here's to embracing every step of the journey, even the painful ones, and embracing the lessons learned along the way.

A Peek Into the Life of a Working Mom: The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow

Our house is a wreck...

This is a completely random post that I haven’t done in a while…

I live in Pittsburgh, Pa. so, I have no confidence that the sun is coming out tomorrow or ever. The title of this blog post is simply a metaphor. Like little orphan Annie, I believe that things will indeed get better. And given how things have been going lately, they have to.

Fortunately for me, I have what I like to call “middle class problems”. I am fortunate, that we remain employed with money in the bank and that those I love are healthy. That said, things have been c-r-a-z-y!!!

Apparently Mercury is in retrograde and it is wreaking havoc on our lives.

Last week in a work meeting where something bizarre was discussed, someone responded, “that’s because mercury is in retrograde”. They said it so matter-of-factly that I got really curious. I fancy myself to be well rounded, I even used to be into astrology, but I was unfamiliar with this phrase.
I was curious, but unmotivated to look it up until today.

Last weekend. Before the drama.

Like I said, things have been crazy in my household lately. The preschooler has been acting out in school. Andre and I have been tense, translation, we have been “sharing our love in very loud ways”, and one day I arrived somewhere only to realize that I was a day early. After the third crazy thing in a day, I remembered, that mercury--as opposed to growing pains, poor planning about our home remodeling project, and my ineptitude at reading my calendar—might be the cause of my problem.

The baby, the only one immune from Mercury's spell

I learned that I am no alone in my desire to hit the “reset” button. If you believe what the writer in the post linked below says, crazy is popping out all over and the fault lies with Mercury! The good thing is, things are supposed to be back to normal tomorrow. Here's hoping!!!

Anything crazy going on your world?
