Jack and Jill of America member and her daughter Recently, I have become keenly aware that good kids are created by accident. They become good because someone made a concerted effort to pour positive things into them--things like, honor, discipline and respect for others. These qualities are taught through lessons and by observation. For that reason, I have been actively considering how to give my children more examples of people who embody those qualities. Indeed, raising my children to become good people is my most important job.

There was an episode in "Sex and the City" where Carrie Bradshaw was asked to be a guest star in a runway fashion show. She was nervous because she classified herself as a writer. However, in one scene, Samantha looked at her and exclaimed, "You're a model!" Carrie believed it for about a minute. Then, when her time came to walk the runway, she fell on her face in front of everyone. Most days, I feel as if I am one step away from that kind of scene.
That said, last Fall my husband and I got the opportunity to appear in a print ad for Howard Hanna. Because they liked it so much they asked us to appear in a commercial. We filmed in a couple of months ago. I just learned that it is airing now. They paid us to do both. So...does this mean that I am a real model? Nah. However, I did have a lot of fun!
People have asked me how did this happen. Truthfully, I responded to an email, took some test photos, and the rest is history. I always wanted to do some modeling. Now, I that I have I realize that it is even MORE fun than I thought it would be! I don't know if this is the start of more gigs or if this was just a lark. What I do know is that I am glad that I responded to that email...
