Equity does not exist in households where women make more!

Mom with kids on vacation "Female breadwinners face a much higher risk for burnout, infidelity, and divorce."  When She Makes More ,  Farnoosh Torabi Prince is one of my favorite artists. And, I think that it is genius that the beginning of his famous song, "Let's go crazy" mimics a marriage ceremony. It makes you wonder whether he was suggesting that marriage itself was a path to insanity. If you have forgotten the beginning, here you go, "Dearly beloved, We are gathered here today, To get through this thing called "life" Electric word, life, It means forever and that's a mighty long time, But I'm here to tell you  There's something else..." He writes the afterworld in the blank. However, a recent study suggests that "marriage" could be inserted in its place, especially marriage for high earning women.

Doing the Holidays Celebrity Style

The only way to be a working mom and survive the holiday season with your sanity is to have your own staff.  But let’s be honest, unless you’re Giselle, Katie Holmes, or Jada Pinkett, chances are that you probably can’t afford Christian Louboutins and you probably cannot afford the staff that would allow you to work every day, raise your kids and glide through the holidays gracefully.

I submit to you that is merely a myth.  You can be a completely regular person and employ a staff, or at least a faux staff.  Here’s how…

Hallmark.com: If you think that Hallmark stores with the Gold Crown Club are the best thing since paper you’re wrong.  Hallmark online is this hotness!  It would be great if I was getting paid to make this endorsement, but I’m not. I share this with you because I understand how badly you’d like to send out nice Christmas cards and what a pain in the neck it is to address those cards.  Hallmark can save you time and hassle.  They will address, stamp and mail your cards.  The other perk is you can save your list and just hit “Select All” next year and send them to the same people again.

Department Stores: Even in these recessionary times Department stores are your friends.  There are people there who will shop for you, call you when the items are in and wrap the presents for you. And you don’t pay extra for these services! They will mail the gifts for you too, but you pay for that.

Internet Sites: Internet shopping may have been invented by a working mom. Who else would have thought of 24/7 shopping where they will mail the gifts for you, often with free shipping and no tax.  It often beats buying them in person because you can’t beat the price or the convenience.

Friends: Invite a friend over for drinks and recruit her to help you.  She can either play with your kid, wrap gifts or bake cookies.  Friends are always eager to help.  They’ll even think it’s a party!

The above can help you keep your sanity during the holidays and look great doing it.  If you’re already frazzled, implement the above this week so that you can waltz into the New Year effortlessly.

Happy Holidays!!!
