Equity does not exist in households where women make more!

Mom with kids on vacation "Female breadwinners face a much higher risk for burnout, infidelity, and divorce."  When She Makes More ,  Farnoosh Torabi Prince is one of my favorite artists. And, I think that it is genius that the beginning of his famous song, "Let's go crazy" mimics a marriage ceremony. It makes you wonder whether he was suggesting that marriage itself was a path to insanity. If you have forgotten the beginning, here you go, "Dearly beloved, We are gathered here today, To get through this thing called "life" Electric word, life, It means forever and that's a mighty long time, But I'm here to tell you  There's something else..." He writes the afterworld in the blank. However, a recent study suggests that "marriage" could be inserted in its place, especially marriage for high earning women.

Toddler Tales: Helping is Fun!

Having the privilege of watching children develop is a real treat. I have so many posts to write about the cool things that my daughter has been doing. There are so many things to write about, but so little time.  It may seem like I am a full time blogger sometime, but I still have my "real" job. I also am involved in community activities too. Somehow I never learned to keep still!

Because I am so busy I am particularly excited about my toddlers new fascination.  She really likes to help. If I am cooking, she likes to help. If I am sweeping, she likes to help. This summer she has also enjoyed helping the neighbor with her gardening. I encourage her even though her help may not always be that helpful. I figure that fostering a helpful spirit will pay off in the end. With all of the things we have to do, each one of us have to do our part, even the kids! Don't judge me!!!

Any of you have any ideas about how to put kids to work?

Moo helps out by cleaning up her toys, making sure her shoes and clothes are in the right place and she likes to help take out the recycling. I've let her help out in the kitchen a few times with cooking or making punch. I think it's great to nurture kids desire to want to be helpful.

It encourages them to be responsible. So I say let her help on!
