Equity does not exist in households where women make more!

Mom with kids on vacation "Female breadwinners face a much higher risk for burnout, infidelity, and divorce."  When She Makes More ,  Farnoosh Torabi Prince is one of my favorite artists. And, I think that it is genius that the beginning of his famous song, "Let's go crazy" mimics a marriage ceremony. It makes you wonder whether he was suggesting that marriage itself was a path to insanity. If you have forgotten the beginning, here you go, "Dearly beloved, We are gathered here today, To get through this thing called "life" Electric word, life, It means forever and that's a mighty long time, But I'm here to tell you  There's something else..." He writes the afterworld in the blank. However, a recent study suggests that "marriage" could be inserted in its place, especially marriage for high earning women.

A Peek Into the Life of a Mommy Blogger: Sunday Thoughts...

I've been up since 7:45AM. The toddler has been asleep. Andre has been asleep. It has been peaceful in Chaton's World and I have been able to do things that I used to enjoy when I was single.

Reading the Sunday New York Times

No, I haven't been doing shots and dancing on tables. I have been reading the New York Times. In the interest of full disclosure, I get the Sunday Times delivered to my house, but don't often get to read it.  Receiving the Times makes me feel all cool, progressive and current. However, I have learned that I can't actually learn anything through osmosis...  I keep up on the headlines and main articles online. But there is something about reading the Sunday Times the old fashioned way on my couch with green tea that makes me smile.  There is often a pile of papers in my living room that represent my hopes and unfinished goals.  However today I actually read the Times the old fashioned way and it felt so good!

Catching Up on TV Shows and Movies

I have enjoyed some tea and toast. And I have caught up on movies and TV shows. Yesterday, I got up a little early too. I watched the "Grey's Anatomy" season opener on demand.  I may need therapy after that one. It was such an emotional show. AND they killed off McSteamy! His character added flavor to the show and was great eye candy.  Shonda Rhimes, did he really have to go?!

I also managed to watch the season premiere of "Scandal" today and I am hooked! It's got sex, suspense and intrigue. My only regret is missing it last season.

I finally saw the end of "The Vow". I started watching it with Andre a bit ago, but missed the ending because I fell asleep. The ending was a bit disappointing, but since it was based on a true story I shouldn't complain.  Reality doesn't always lend itself to neat story lines...

Even Working Moms Make Time For Outings and Parties

Even with all of this television I managed to sneak in a quick visit to the National Aviary with the toddler and some friends. The toddler dressed for the occasion. (See the photos below.) We would have stayed longer, but there were so many people there we got a little claustrophobic.
After the Aviary, I went to the 2 Sisters Cosmetics Pittsburgh launch party. I'm so proud of Bethany and her family for making their dreams come true!
We also managed to fit in Andre's mother's birthday party. It was quite a day! With alI of this activitiy is there any wonder that I'm tired all of the time?!
