Nothing beats Free Flowers

Last Friday I was honored to
attend the Pittsburgh Go Red for Women Luncheon. It is a great event for a
great cause. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the
United States. It kills nearly half a million women each year at the rate of
about one per minute. For that reason,
fundraisers like the Go Red for Women Luncheon matter.
Because of the nature of my work,
I am pulled into a lot of matters unexpectedly. One of those matters pulled me
out of the Go Red for Women Luncheon. I missed the majority of the event,
including the keynote speaker, Muriel Hemingway. Indeed, I was not done with my
call until they had cleared the tables. I was disappointed because I had
planned on attending and because I missed the awesome looking dessert, which
was angel food cake topped with chocolate sauce and berries. It was a treat I
would have enjoyed!
Before I could feel sorry for
myself, someone offered me a couple of the centerpieces. The flowers in the
above photo were in there. Just like that, I felt better!
