One Secret to a Working Mom Success: Celebrate the Seasons With Traditions

Greetings from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania ! Things have been busy. I am still a working mom of three, working full time who is trying to make a difference. I do a lot of things and try to be present so that I can learn from them. I share them on this blog so that we can learn together. Below are some thoughts, hacks, and/or lessons that I have learned from navigating my world. "Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world."— Susan Lieberman   Traditions have a way of defining a family, provide stability and give hope. They are especially important for woking moms who spend so much time working to provide for their family that they may miss some of the "traditional" mom things like bake sales, volunteering at the book fair, and a host of actual and seemingly made up holidays.  They are also important for families trying to reinvent themselves in the wake of d...

Wednesday Wisdom-Cherish every moment

Hanging out at Myrtle Beach

“Cherish every moment with those you love at every stage of your journey.” ― Jack Layton
A friend sent me a link to day to send me a video message on my phone. Because I have like 7,000 photos saved, not including the videos and applications that I have on it, I was unable to install this new app and was unable to see or hear her video message. Well, I want to be a good friend and want the message. So, I have been looking through my phone to identify things that I can delete and/or transfer. During my project, I found this photo from our trip to Myrtle Beach last month.

Since it was overcast skies, cold and rainy in Pittsburgh, seeing this photo of a sunny day at the beach was a nice treat!

It made me smile and helped me get over the hump called Wednesday. I remembered the sweet vacation memories. I remembered running along the beach, jumping the waves, breakfast by the ocean and sandcastles... I remembered ice cream for dinner, seafood for lunch, and abundant fresh fruit. I remembered not having to make my own bed for nearly a week. I remembered paradise! The smile you see above captures all of that. I decided to share it with you in case you also needed something to boost your spirits.

Happy Wednesday!!!
