Easter Reminded Me of the Miracles That Are My Children

Greetings from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! Things have been busy. I am still a working mom of three, working full time who is trying to make a difference. I do a lot of things and try to be present so that I can learn from them. I share them on this blog so that we can learn together. Below are some thoughts, hacks, and/or lessons that I have learned from navigating my world. Below is a tale of my road to becoming the mother of three. It was a road filled with joys and disappointments. However, I wouldn't giving nothing for my journey now. Here's to embracing every step of the journey, even the painful ones, and embracing the lessons learned along the way.

On International Women's Day, Remember We're All in This Together

As a blogger, I focus on being a working mom and publish posts designed to help empower working moms, educate those who love working moms, and advocate for the policy changes we need in order to do what we do even better. Indeed, women are still fighting for basic human rights. We are fighting or the recognition that our experiences, our femininity and our health are worthy of discussion in the greater conversation and not relegated to a sidebar discussion about a "special interest group".

We are women. We are here. We gave birth to every person on the planet and failure to include our needs and desires in every policy conversation is a denial of our humanity. Deal us in!

As I shared recently, I am a better mom because of the assistance, advice and encouragement that I get from my sister. (For a link to that post, click here.) So, I decided to share these photos of us on International Womens' Day. They represent the special bond we women have--an empowering sisterhood that elevates our spirits and our performance when we remember that we are all traveling this journey together and we matter--whether we have given birth to a child, a company, or an idea.

So, my sisters, let's lift up one another. Let's be our cheerleaders, our champions and our heroes. And on this International Women's Day, let's commit to creating a fabric of sisterhood that is so powerful and strong that it helps change the world.
