In the movie Love Jones , the male lead says, "romance is about the possibility of the thing." I agree with that. However, I think that the concept is more universal. life--truly living--is about the possibility of the thing. For a while, I was sleep walking through life, doing what was required without truly embracing it. Recent events have caused me to re-evaluate that and to embrace life and all of its limitless possibilities.   And romance, is about love. Over the past year I have become committed to falling back in love with my life. New relationships have made that love affair possible. And, I don't take them for granted. Creating space for new relationships and making new friends as a single, working mom, and creating space is not easy. But it is necessary. For that reason, I have committed to making new friendships, keeping the old productive ones, and enjoying them all--in the midst of working, parenting, and adulting . The giveaway promotion with "East End Eden" was a tremendous opportunity for me as a blogger. Some bloggers giveaway things all of the time, but this was my first foray into the giveaway space. It is true what they say, giveaways increase your blog traffic lie no other. I think that it's because the only thing that Americans like better than Reality TV is free stuff.

I decided to take the plunge for the reason that most bloggers succumb to the lure. I wanted to increase my blog traffic. However, based on my conversations with my readers they are overworked and could use a break from it all.  So, I was thrilled that Emily Escalante decided to give one of my readers the opportunity to win a free massage.  Also, I LOVE "East End Eden" and thought that it was super cool that I could run such a great promotion.

Kristie Bowman wrote a compelling piece about her husband who makes breakfast, helps with the kids and nursed her back to health after she had cancer a double mastectomy. Kristie and her family have endured so much and it sounds like her husband has been their rock. Based on what she has been through Kristie could have entered on her own behalf. However, she nominated her husband because of what he has meant to her and her family. Her husband, Jimmy, sounds like a great man and one who is deserving to win.

Let's all celebrate Jimmy and pray for Kristie's continued recovery.
