Easter Reminded Me of the Miracles That Are My Children

Greetings from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! Things have been busy. I am still a working mom of three, working full time who is trying to make a difference. I do a lot of things and try to be present so that I can learn from them. I share them on this blog so that we can learn together. Below are some thoughts, hacks, and/or lessons that I have learned from navigating my world. Below is a tale of my road to becoming the mother of three. It was a road filled with joys and disappointments. However, I wouldn't giving nothing for my journey now. Here's to embracing every step of the journey, even the painful ones, and embracing the lessons learned along the way.

Holiday Party Tip: Always Have a Dress Rehearsal...

Tis the season for holiday parties...

Even though I am a working mom with a toddler, I make time for holiday parties. My holiday party season began on Friday, December 7th when Andre and I attended a work related holiday party at the Fox Chapel Golf Club. The location meant that we had to step it up a bit. We had to get dressy.  Unfortunately,
I had a wardrobe malfunction...

Holiday Parties Require Appropriate Attire

Andre looked dapper in a navy Calvin Klein wool suit with a white shirt and silk, silver tie.

Doesn't he look great in this photo?!

A Dress Rehearsal Would Have Been a Great Idea...

I had planned to compliment his outfit with a navy and gold Elie Tahari skirt with a navy and gold Flavio Castellani blouse with French cuffs. However, this is Chaton's World and sometimes things awry.
My blouse was missing a button and that threw me off. Because the toddler decided that spending the evening with her grandparents wasn't her first choice getting ready proved to be a challenge. Even if I had been able to find the button there was no time to sew it on.

I was mad, but kept my cool. It helps when your closet has lots of options.

My Second Choice Outfit was Still a Good One!

So, I changed my outfit. Ultimately, I wore a black and cream blouse by Narcisco Rodriguez (a score from his Kohl's line) with a many strands of pearls. I also wore a black lace skirt from Banana Republic. And my Pour La Victoire nude patent leather pumps complimented my outfit perfectly! (See the photo below and let me know if you think that I complimented Andre too...)

We had a great time replete with dinner and dancing! Fortunately, we refrained from doing "Da Butt".  Somehow bumping and grinding on Andre didn't seem appropriate at the work party, even after imbibing...

It was great to have a night out!

Stay Tuned for more party details!
