One Secret to a Working Mom Success: Celebrate the Seasons With Traditions

Greetings from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania ! Things have been busy. I am still a working mom of three, working full time who is trying to make a difference. I do a lot of things and try to be present so that I can learn from them. I share them on this blog so that we can learn together. Below are some thoughts, hacks, and/or lessons that I have learned from navigating my world. "Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world."— Susan Lieberman   Traditions have a way of defining a family, provide stability and give hope. Obama can't stop, won't stop...

Okay, so I am writing about the Democratic Primary election again, but really, can you blame me?!

The entire country has been mesmerized by this historic election series. It's better than reality TV, the writer's strike and Britney Spears' breakdown combined! Unlike all of those events that consume the media, the outcome of the next presidential election will directly impact our lives. And that is something to get excited about.

Barack Obama has impressed me, this country and himself. He has won in every region of this country. This past Tuesday, Obama won Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC--a sweep of eight straight primary victories. His hope, our hope is not false. It is not a fairy tale. It is real.

Obama can't stop. He won't stop until he claims the White House. As he said in a speech this week, "We won the state of Maryland. We won the Commonwealth of Virginia and, though we won in Washington DC, this movement will not stop until there is change in Washington DC. Tonight we are on our way."

I will not predict a winner yet. Betting on politics is a foolish person's game. However, this country has demonstrated that it is ready for change. Indeed, Obama's victories in these primary elections have already begun to transform us. And I am excited!
