Happy Summer!!!

Dog Days of Summer have begun Most working moms are exhausted this time of year. The kids are over school. The uniforms have holes in them and the book bags are held together with duct tape. And then, just like that, Memorial Day comes to help us cope with what we have to do. It gives us a reprieve to prepare for the summer--a less structured life filled with longer nights and more fun.

A Peek Into the Life of a Working Mom: Dating the new parent way!

Andre and I had the best date today.  It started in the morning and we picked it back up in the afternoon.

He followed me to the car dealer this morning so that I can get my trunk fixed before our vacation.  I guess it got overused because I had a little too much junk back there. (Yes, the double entendre was intentional! :-)) We dropped my car off and he took me to work. As luck would have it, we lost power in our building and we got to go home early.  Since I was carless, Andre had to come get me.  He took me to his office where I  acted as his secretary for a bit.  Then, we went to the grocery store to shop for the dinner we're preparing for his aunt who's in town.  We had a long wait in traffic and were able to chat in a way that we hadn't in a while.

When we got home, I felt refreshed and renewed.  I love the baby, but it was good for us to be how we used to be for a little while.  I know this sounds lame, but I think that I now love car trouble! :-) (Note to the universe, don't take it literally!!!)

I know exactly what you mean! We get so caught up in life and kids, it's nice to have a "date" or alone time however we can get it ;)

I'm your newest GFC follower and would love for you to follow back!

I am a huge fan of one-on-one grown up time! It doesn't happen too often for hubby and I, but when it does I always feel refreshed too. :) Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! Following you on GFC and Twitter. Have a great day!

As parents we take what we can get!! Sometimes just doing stuff together without the kids is relaxing. ;)
