One Secret to a Working Mom Success: Celebrate the Seasons With Traditions

Greetings from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania ! Things have been busy. I am still a working mom of three, working full time who is trying to make a difference. I do a lot of things and try to be present so that I can learn from them. I share them on this blog so that we can learn together. Below are some thoughts, hacks, and/or lessons that I have learned from navigating my world. "Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world."— Susan Lieberman   Traditions have a way of defining a family, provide stability and give hope. Just Another Manic Monday...

It's Monday morning! I'm actually really not manic, but the 80's song did make for a good title of this post.

I have great hopes for this week even though it is turning colder. We have had summer-like weather for weeks. It's a little disappointing now that the temperature seems to be getting more seasonal.  I'mtrying to just be thankful for the sunshine we've enjoyed instead of lamenting its loss. After all, I do live in Pittsburgh. I really shouldn't have high hopes about the weather anyway!

Yesterday we had Sunday dinner with my mother and brother, which was great. I have really come to value these dinners. It's great seeing how my daughter gets to know my family.  These little things really do mean so much.

Monday represents the beginning of the workweek. I vow not to simply wish the week away longing for the weekend.  Instead, I will focus on what I have to accomplish and on the blessings that I have. I'm also focus on planning our vacation!

Have a great week!
