One Secret to a Working Mom Success: Celebrate the Seasons With Traditions

Greetings from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania ! Things have been busy. I am still a working mom of three, working full time who is trying to make a difference. I do a lot of things and try to be present so that I can learn from them. I share them on this blog so that we can learn together. Newsflash: Powerful Women Get pregnant too!

A few weeks ago I wrote a piece for "Parent Society" entitled, "Pregnancy, Power, and Promotion". It discussed the media response to the pregnancy of Yahoo's new CEO, Marissa Mayer. A lot of writers described the shock and amazement and questioned whether she would be able to balance all of her responsibilities. 

In some ways, it was as if people were surprised that a married women of reproductive age could actually get pregnant.

Perhaps they believed that success interfered with natural biological functions. My friends and I were outraged, which led to my article. Recently, I've been speaking with people who were unaware about Ms. Mayer's pregnancy or the media response. So, I thought I'd share my post with you.
