Easter Reminded Me of the Miracles That Are My Children

Greetings from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! Things have been busy. I am still a working mom of three, working full time who is trying to make a difference. I do a lot of things and try to be present so that I can learn from them. I share them on this blog so that we can learn together. Below are some thoughts, hacks, and/or lessons that I have learned from navigating my world. Below is a tale of my road to becoming the mother of three. It was a road filled with joys and disappointments. However, I wouldn't giving nothing for my journey now. Here's to embracing every step of the journey, even the painful ones, and embracing the lessons learned along the way.

Yo Gabba Gabba Came to Pittsburgh!

Sometimes things are even cooler than you imagined.  Tonight we went to see the “Yo Gabba Gabba!, Get the Sillies Out”.  Yo Gabba Gabba! is a children’s show that airs on Nick Jr. To say that my toddler likes “Yo Gabba Gabba!” would be a major understatement. She loves it in a major way. Like we used to say on the playground, she loves is so much that “she wants to MARRY it!”

Yo Gabba Gabba! Got the Party Started!

I didn’t really understand the appeal until tonight.
I work Full-Time. So, I miss a lot of TV time with my daughter. I think that I had only seen the show a few times. I didn’t understand how the combination of music, colors and energy are absolutely infectious!
However, tonight, I became a believer.  Unlike Barney, Yo Gabba Gabba! is cool!

DJ Lance and The “Yo Gabba Gabba!” people came up with the perfect mix of kid-friendly fun that works for adults. The show was fast paced. The music was bumping. They even tour with Biz Markie who rapped and did the beat box! I don’t know if this is what he envisioned when he was rocking the house circa 1995.  All I know is that having quality rap music at a kids' show was genius! Parents and kids were dancing in the aisles!

Awhile ago, a friend with older children said, I can't wait until your daughter gets into "Yo Gabba Gabba!". I didn't understand what she meant then, but now I know. And the truth is, I'm kind of into it to. Don't judge me! :-)
My new mantra: Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle!

Bright Colors + Cool Music = A Great Evening!

Seeing how much the toddler loved the show made it all worth it!
