A Grandfather’s Love, Demonstrated in Freeze Pops

As the weather starts to break a bit, we make plans for Spring Break, and I book my kids in a variety of Summer camps,  I am reminded that this summer will be different because we won't have my dad to share the summer with,  My dad kept these on the rotation, in every flavor. Not even sure how he gets them now because I think they are the equivalent of "kid crack"--made with artificial coloring, flavoring, and sugar . To my kids though, these freeze pops were love and summer wrapped in a bow.

Why Being a Mom is The Best Job On Earth

I LOVE being a mom!

Despite my previous whining, having a baby is by far the best thing that has ever happened to me. A fellow mom pointed out that I wouldn't exchange this wonderful chaos for anything in the world.

Every day that I am able to take care of my baby gives my life meaning. When I feed her I am reminded of how much she needs me. When I see her smile, I am filled with joy. And when I hear her laugh, my entire being illuminates.

It is so easy to fall in love with your baby.

Her eyes… Her smile… Her laugh… Her little feet… Her skin that is soft as silk… Her scent that I always love, even when it’s a little stinky… Her cry...

Her life is a miracle. When I am in her presence, and she is sleeping and she is doing nothing but breathing, makes me happier than I have ever been.

Seeing her in her swing as I type this blog entry fills me with hope despite all of the distress portrayed on the news.

I can’t say that I will stop whining. I think it’s in my nature. However, you can be reassured that with with every rant, I am smiling inside.  I know that it is a blessing to be able to complain about balancing my life with caring for my new bundle of joy.

That being said, I still need to get around to completing, “Tales of a Natural Childbirth” Part II...:-)

WOW,

I have no idea, but I can say that you are a wonder woman!! We always think we are not strong enough mentally and physically until we are put to the test. You truly are a BAD ASS so own it :)

Neema (sp?) is so beautiful and I'm sure every inch of pain you endured was worth. Saying that in hind sight and also coming from some one who has yet to give birth lol!

Enjoy her. Can't wait to hear more. Happy New Year!
