Equity does not exist in households where women make more!

Mom with kids on vacation "Female breadwinners face a much higher risk for burnout, infidelity, and divorce."  When She Makes More ,  Farnoosh Torabi Prince is one of my favorite artists. And, I think that it is genius that the beginning of his famous song, "Let's go crazy" mimics a marriage ceremony. It makes you wonder whether he was suggesting that marriage itself was a path to insanity. If you have forgotten the beginning, here you go, "Dearly beloved, We are gathered here today, To get through this thing called "life" Electric word, life, It means forever and that's a mighty long time, But I'm here to tell you  There's something else..." He writes the afterworld in the blank. However, a recent study suggests that "marriage" could be inserted in its place, especially marriage for high earning women.

Postpartum Doctor's Visit: Losing the Baby Weight

I had a doctor's appointment today. It was my annual "put your feet in stirrups" kind of affair. As my feet were in the stirrups all I could think was, "You really should have gotten/done a pedicure before your appointment. You only come once a year. You want your doctor to remember you with painted toenails!" I am sure that he couldn't have cared less about my feet. And I am sure that given all of the women who see him he's probably seen some that are much worse. Still, I had the thought anyway.

The other thought I had was that I have to tell my blog readers about my weight.  I am proud to say that I weighed in at three pounds less than I weighed when I found out that I was pregnant.  I was quite pleased about that! Of course, my weight loss went unnoticed by the doctor.  He was quick to remind me not to gain too much while I was pregnant. However, when I showed up in my "fighting weight" he didn't even notice. That figures!

I'll write more in a later post about how I lost the weight. In this post I want to highlight how I prepare for a doctor's visit.

Usually, I make sure that my pedicure is fresh.  However, in all of the excitement of raising my toddler. I forgot about my appointment until I was dressing this morning.  Also, it's not quite sandals season so I haven't had to have a fresh pedicure daily.

Besides generally having a fresh pedicure, I dress for the appointment.  Of course, my weight is my weight.  Still, I try to make sure that I make the best showing possible by making sure that my clothing is a light as possible.  This morning I wore a Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress and no tights. That outfit is about as light as they come.  And to ensure that I didn't have any unnecessary pounds, I put all of my jewelry in my purse while I waited for them to call me back.  There's no rhyme or reason to my madness. I'm just obsessed about the number being as accurate as possible. Today, it appears that my efforts paid off!

YEAH!
