This is another post to honor National Ice Cream Month. Ice Cream is such a yummy thing to enjoy. It also brings families together.  We were fortunate enough to visit Klavon's Ice Cream Parlor, a true Pittsburgh treasure, recently.  Below are a few shots from our visit. Klavon's Ice Cream Parlor  is a great place to enjoy some ice cream There is an old-fashioned ice cream parlor in the Strip called  Klavon's Ice Cream Parlor .  I had driven by many times and wondered what it was like. So, when my daughter said that she wanted to get some ice cream and wanted to sit down in a restaurant, I decided to give it a try.  We were not disappointed. For my family, Summer is a time for consuming lots and lots of ice cream. And July is National Ice Cream Month.  Sometimes we consume sophisticated, organic ice cream.  Other times we enjoy ice cream cones from McDonald's .  This summer, McDonald's has had cones for .49 cents, which is perfect for any budget.

As a working mom, it is hard to keep track of some of the more obscure holidays. So, I have decided to share them with you. This Sunday is National Ice Cream Day ! Most people love ice cream . My daughter loves ice cream in a waffle cone , even though she just eats the ice cream and discards the cone. My friend Amanda used to say that she couldn't see someone eat an ice cream cone without having one herself. And the funny thing about ice cream is that it makes us smile! If you would like to celebrate a holiday and enjoy a sweet treat, enjoy an ice cream cone , a bowl or a sundae this Sunday. Want to learn more about this holiday?
